The second thing this valley needs is somebody looking after houses whose owners are not standing in them. Sedona has been a vacation-home and retirement town since the 1950s, and in both Coconino and Yavapai counties more than half of all vacant housing is seasonal, recreational or occasional-use. For a lot of our customers, recurring cleaning is not about keeping up with a busy family. It is about having someone reliable in the house between visits who will tell them what they found.

The cleaning problem here is dust and hard water. Sedona sits at 4,360 feet in high desert that gets about seventeen inches of rain in a year, and fine red dust works its way into blinds, window tracks, baseboards, vents and the tops of everything faster than newcomers expect. Hard water dries it onto glass. A checklist written for a humid climate misses half of it, so ours gives blinds, tracks, vents and glass their own line items -- and on a rental, the window with the red-rock view gets cleaned like it is part of the listing photos, because it is.

Sedona is the name on the map, but the valley is bigger than the red rocks. The Village of Oak Creek sits seven miles south on SR 179 at the base of Bell Rock, all condos, golf and second homes. Cottonwood is nineteen miles down SR 89A, about half an hour, and it is where the year-round population, the hospital and Old Town actually are -- much of the workforce that keeps Sedona running commutes in from elsewhere in the valley. Cornville sits on the road between them, Clarkdale is four miles past Cottonwood, and Camp Verde and Rimrock hold down the south end of the valley. We serve all of it, and we treat Cottonwood as a second anchor rather than an afterthought.
