House Cleaning & Maid Service

Some people call it house cleaning and plenty of our customers call it maid service. It is the same job: a professional who comes to your home on a set schedule, works through a written checklist, and leaves the place ready to live in. In this market both phrasings pull the same monthly search volume, which is a fair sign nobody local distinguishes between them either.

What separates a real maid service from a one-off clean is the relationship. Your cleaner learns which cabinet holds the glass cleaner, which door the dog pushes open, which bathroom takes the most abuse and which slider gets used forty times a day in the summer. After a few visits nobody is following a generic script -- they are cleaning your house the way you would if you had the time.

Most households in this metro land on biweekly. It keeps a house genuinely clean without paying for visits you do not need. Weekly makes sense when there are kids, pets, or more traffic through the house than a two-week gap can absorb -- and in a place where the doors open onto red dust and the air conditioning runs half the year, a fortnight is long enough for glass and floors to show it.

Monthly works for smaller homes and tidy households that mainly want the heavy-effort tasks handled: bathrooms, floors, kitchen, glass and tracks. You are not locked into whichever plan you start with, and plenty of households here move between frequencies as the seasons turn.

The cleaning problem here is specific, and a checklist written for a humid climate misses most of it. St. George averages a July high of 101.9 degrees and takes 9.31 inches of rain across an entire year, with about an inch of snow. That is a cold desert: dry, bright and dusty nearly all the time.

Fine red dust is the constant. It settles on sills, ledges, baseboards, fan blades, vent covers and the tops of trim, and it lands hardest on the surfaces that face outside -- patio doors, sliders, screens, window tracks and thresholds. Air conditioning runs for half the year and moves that dust around the house rather than out of it, which is why returns, registers and fan blades matter more here than they would in a mild climate. And because so many homes in this metro were finished recently, there is often build dust still coming out of the same places months after move-in.

So glass, sliders, screens, tracks, sills, thresholds, vents and fan blades are line items on our checklist rather than upgrades. To be straight about the limit: we clean interior glass thoroughly, but we are not a window-washing, pressure-washing, carpet-extraction or duct-cleaning company. If what your house actually needs is one of those, we will say so rather than take your money for a partial answer.

This metro added people faster than almost any in the country -- 213,670 residents by July 2025, up 2.5 percent in a single year, eighth fastest in the United States. Washington City grew 49.2 percent over the previous decade and Hurricane 45.7 percent. What that means on the ground is a lot of recently built houses in master-planned subdivisions occupied by households who moved here from somewhere else and do not yet have a cleaner, a plumber or a painter.

If that is you, the sequence that works is simple. Start with a move-in or deep clean so the house is at a real baseline -- new construction leaves dust in vents, on cabinet tops and along carpet edges that keeps reappearing for months, and no amount of surface wiping ends that cycle. Then put a recurring visit on the calendar at whatever frequency suits the house. Everything after the first clean is holding a line rather than fighting a backlog, which is both faster and cheaper than the other way round.
