Beach House & Vacation Rental Cleaning on Galveston's West End

A West End turnover is a different physical job from a house on the mainland. Almost everything out here stands on pilings, so a turn means two or three flights of stairs with linens and equipment. Ground-level entries, stairwells and outdoor showers collect blown sand continuously. Decks and rails carry salt film, and so do the sliders and screens -- and in a house rented for the water view, smeared glass is the thing a guest photographs. Many of these homes sleep eight to fourteen people, which means the kitchen, the bathrooms and the linen count are all larger than the bedroom count suggests. We run a fixed sequence against your checkout window: strip and remake beds, bathrooms, kitchen and dishes, sand out of entries and stairs, floors, interior glass and sliders, decks and outdoor shower, restock, stage, photograph, out.

The geography is long and the drive is real, so we plan around it instead of pretending otherwise. Pirates Beach is 10.6 miles from downtown Galveston, about 18 minutes. Jamaica Beach is 15.0 miles, about 25 minutes. Pointe West, out at San Luis Pass, is 25.0 miles and closer to 39 minutes. The belt in between takes in Pirates Beach West, Palm Beach, Terramar Beach, Sea Isle and Beachside Village, with Galveston Island State Park and the Coastal Heritage Preserve on the same road. Scheduling a same-day turn at the far end is a different conversation from scheduling one at Pirates Beach, and we would rather have that conversation before we take the booking.

A lot of the owners here are not here. Plenty live in Houston and see the property a few weekends a year, which makes the report as important as the clean: photos of every room when we walk out, and a plain note about anything broken, missing or running low. It also matters that this market is professionalising. The City of Galveston has required short-term rental registration since 2015, took over registration and hotel-occupancy-tax collection on 1 October 2025, requires the GVR registration number to appear in every advertisement including booking platforms and social posts, and Council approved an updated ordinance in November 2025.
