Deep Cleaning Services

Regular cleaning keeps a house from sliding backwards: surfaces wiped, floors vacuumed and mopped, bathrooms and kitchen kept sanitary. It is maintenance, and it is scoped accordingly.

Deep cleaning moves the baseline. We pull the stove out and clean the wall behind it. We take the covers off vents rather than dusting around them. We scrub grout instead of mopping over it. We break down blinds slat by slat and clear window tracks with a brush rather than a cloth. It takes several times longer than a maintenance visit, which is exactly why it is not something you need every month.

Two conditions define cleaning in this market, and between them they explain why glass and bathrooms take more abuse here than people moving in from a softer-water part of the country expect.

The first is hard water. Mineral film builds on shower doors, tile, fixtures, sinks and window panes, and once it is established a general-purpose spray does not touch it. In a deep clean, glass and fixtures get real time and the right products rather than a pass on the way out of the room. Where a deposit has etched glass permanently, we say so instead of charging you to try again.

The second is dust and pollen. Cedar and oak in season, plus grit off the county and ranch roads, ends up in the reservoirs a weekly clean never opens: blind slats, window tracks and sills, vent and return covers, ceiling fans, the tops of doors and casings, and the carpet edges where dust migrates and settles. Those get individual attention here.

One straight answer while we are on the subject. We clean interior glass thoroughly and vacuum carpets as part of the job, but we are not a window-washing company or a carpet-extraction company. If what your house actually needs is hot-water extraction on the carpet or a proper exterior window service, we will tell you that rather than take your money for a partial answer.

There are more than seven hundred historic homes, buildings and sites in Fredericksburg, and Comfort has better than a hundred nineteenth-century structures in its downtown alone. A deep clean in one of those is a different piece of work: original wood, limestone, deep window reveals, painted trim with a century of layers on it, and hardware nobody makes anymore.

We go slower in those houses, we ask before we use anything unfamiliar on an original surface, and we would rather leave something alone and tell you about it than take a risk with it. If there is a piece you want us to skip entirely, say so at the walk-through and it stays skipped.
