Woodland Park sits at 8,465 feet in Teller County -- the only area we serve outside El Paso County -- and calls itself "the city above the clouds" for good reason. It is reached from Colorado Springs on US-24 through Ute Pass, about a 27-minute drive on an average commute, and the town of 7,920 is surrounded by Pike National Forest, with granite outcrops and alpine meadows running from 8,200 to 10,000 feet. It was founded in 1887 as Manitou Park and renamed for the pine and spruce that surround it.

Two very different customers live on the same street here. Woodland Park is a bedroom community for people who commute down the pass into Colorado Springs, so a large share of the housing is ordinary family homes that need an ordinary recurring clean on a schedule that holds. It is also a tourist base for Pikes Peak, reached by the Pikes Peak Highway and the Cog Railway, so a large share of the housing is cabins, second homes and vacation rentals that need turnovers between guests.
