Airbnb & Vacation Rental Cleaning
Turnovers between guests and resets between long workforce stays, with photos of every room before the next arrival.

We will describe this market honestly rather than sell you a version of it that does not exist here. Bakersfield is not a vacation-rental town. There are roughly 626 active short-term listings in the city, occupancy runs around 37 percent, and every Airbnb, vacation-rental, cabin and turnover search term we tested in this county reads zero. If you came here expecting a beach or a mountain-resort turnover business, that is not what Kern County is.
What it actually is, is more interesting and almost nobody is serving it. About 22 percent of the short-term rental supply in Bakersfield serves stays of thirty nights or longer. That is not tourism -- it is workforce housing: oil-field and construction contractors, agricultural and packing-house supervisors, traveling medical staff at the hospitals and clinics, and project crews at the distribution sites. Four in five of those listings are entire homes and nearly three-quarters are houses rather than apartments. Guest length of stay peaks in January, and about 23 percent of recorded guest languages are Spanish.
A mid-term property is a different cleaning product from a weekend turnover and it should be priced and scoped like one. Someone living in a house for five weeks uses it like a home: the kitchen gets cooked in properly, the laundry runs, the soft goods take real wear, and dust accumulates the way it does in any occupied house in this valley. What that property needs is a mid-stay reset on a schedule, then a full turnover clean at the end that gets the house back to a photographable baseline, not a ninety-minute flip.
We do both. Short turnovers between guests where the calendar calls for it, mid-stay resets and end-of-stay turnovers on longer bookings, owner-arrival cleans, and off-season deep cleans. Every turnover ends with photos of each room sent to you, plus anything broken, missing or running low.
Short-Term Rental Turnover Cleaning
A turnover is a deadline rather than a task list, and we run it as a fixed sequence so it does not depend on who is working that day: beds stripped and remade, bathrooms cleaned and restocked, kitchen reset -- dishes, appliance exteriors, sink, counters, trash -- floors, interior glass and sliders, consumables restocked, staged, photographed, out.
What is specific to this valley is the dust. A property that sat empty for four days between bookings in August has a visible film on the entry table, the television, the glass and the fan blades, and that is the first thing a guest photographs. Blinds, tracks, sills, vent covers and fan blades belong on a turnover checklist here in a way they do not in a wetter climate, and we treat them as standard rather than as a deep-clean extra.
- Beds stripped and remade, linens changed
- Bathrooms cleaned, restocked, glass and mirrors spotted out
- Kitchen reset: dishes, appliance exteriors, sink, counters, trash
- Interior glass, sliders and mirrors
- Blinds, tracks, sills, vent covers and fan blades
- Consumables restocked and low supplies reported
- Photos of every room sent when we walk out
Thirty-Plus-Night Stays and Workforce Housing
This is the part of the rental market that actually pays in Kern County, and it is the reason this page exists at all. Roughly 22 percent of Bakersfield short-term listings serve stays of thirty nights or longer, and the people in them are working: oil-field and construction contractors, agricultural and packing-house supervisors, traveling nurses and medical staff, and project teams at the distribution sites around Shafter. Supply has been growing quickly and regulation is light, which is why so many owners have moved into this segment.
A thirty-plus-night guest lives in the house. That changes what a cleaning contract should look like. What works is a scheduled mid-stay reset -- typically every two or three weeks, agreed up front so nobody is negotiating access with a tired contractor at nine at night -- followed by a full turnover clean at the end of the stay that takes the property back to a listing-photo baseline. Kitchens get real use, laundry runs constantly, soft goods take wear, and the house collects the same valley dust as any occupied home.
If you run these properties, tell us how many, where they are, your typical stay length and whether linens are on site. We will build a schedule rather than wait for a call, and Spanish is available end to end for guests and for you -- nearly a quarter of recorded guest languages in this market are Spanish.
- Scheduled mid-stay resets on long bookings, agreed in advance
- Full end-of-stay turnover back to a listing-photo baseline
- Kitchen, laundry and soft-goods attention on longer stays
- Linen handling on site or coordinated to your arrangement
- Multiple units on one schedule with one point of contact
- Guest-facing coordination in English or Spanish
Tehachapi Second Homes and Between-Visit Cleans
The one part of this county with a genuine leisure-visitor base is Tehachapi, thirty-five miles east and 3,970 feet up SR-58, where the Land of Four Seasons name is earned with fifteen to twenty inches of snow a year. Second homes and weekend places up there sit empty for weeks and then get opened in a hurry, which is a different service from a turnover.
What those properties need is a between-visit clean on a schedule, an owner-arrival clean timed to when you are actually driving up, and a deeper reset after the winter. Wood stoves and fireplaces leave fine ash on horizontal surfaces and in soft goods; snow and mud come in at the door rather than dust coming in on the wind; and a house that has been closed since the last visit needs the reservoirs cleared rather than the middle of the floor wiped. Tell us your arrival date rather than a standing day and we will work to it.
The Kern River Valley: Lake Isabella, Kernville, and Wofford Heights
If you own a cabin or a river rental in the Kern River Valley -- Lake Isabella, Kernville or Wofford Heights -- that is where the county's actual cabin-rental market is, and it is fair to ask whether we cover it.
The honest answer is that we take work there by arrangement rather than pretending it is a routine stop. It is forty to fifty miles northeast of Bakersfield up SR-178 through the river canyon, which is a real drive on a mountain road, and we do not have anyone stationed up the canyon. So we will not promise you a same-day turnover between a morning checkout and an afternoon check-in from a standing start. What we can do is schedule cabin work as blocks -- several properties on one run, dates agreed in advance, or a seasonal open-up and close-down rather than weekly turnovers. If that fits how you operate, send us the addresses and your calendar and we will tell you plainly what we can hold.
