Regular cleaning keeps a home from sliding backwards: surfaces wiped, floors vacuumed and mopped, bathrooms and kitchen kept sanitary. It is maintenance, and it is quoted accordingly.

Deep cleaning resets the baseline. We pull the range out and clean the wall behind it. We take the grates off the vents. We scrub grout rather than mopping over it. We get behind and underneath the furniture instead of around it. That is hours of work, not minutes, and it is the right starting point before a recurring schedule -- a maintenance visit cannot dig a house out, it can only keep one where it already is.

A Florida house that has been shut since April is not simply dusty. Humidity has been sitting in it for months with the air barely moving, so bathrooms, closets, laundry rooms and anywhere behind a closed door need proper attention rather than a surface pass. Soft furnishings and mattresses hold the damp smell that a fast clean leaves behind. Refrigerators that were emptied but left closed usually need work. A post-construction or new-owner deep clean deals with that properly: vents and registers, light fixtures and fan blades, cabinet interiors and tops, window and slider tracks, grout, and every floor twice, because the first pass only lifts what is loose. Do it once at the start and a recurring schedule will actually hold afterward.

Mold and mildew pressure never really takes a season off here, and it does not announce itself on an open counter -- it starts in grout lines, around shower thresholds, behind toilets, in the seal of a front-loading washer, on the underside of a lanai screen door and in the corners of closets that never get opened.

A deep clean is where those surfaces actually get dealt with rather than wiped past. We scrub grout instead of mopping over it, work the caulk lines and thresholds, clear vents and exhaust fans that have been running through summer, and get into the closed-off spaces where damp accumulates. If a surface is past the point where cleaning helps -- caulk that needs replacing, a screen that needs a professional wash rather than a wipe -- we will say so instead of charging you to scrub something that will not come back.
