Ransom Canyon is the strangest and best-looking place in the Lubbock metro. Twelve miles east of the city, the flat table of the Llano Estacado suddenly drops away into Yellow House Canyon, and the town sits down inside it on a lake formed by damming the North Fork of the Double Mountain Fork of the Brazos.
