Cleaning Services in Ransom Canyon, TX

Turnover cleaning and house cleaning for the lake houses and canyon homes east of Lubbock.

~1,200

Ransom Canyon is the strangest and best-looking place in the Lubbock metro. Twelve miles east of the city, the flat table of the Llano Estacado suddenly drops away into Yellow House Canyon, and the town sits down inside it on a lake formed by damming the North Fork of the Double Mountain Fork of the Brazos. It is under a square mile in total, about 1,189 residents at the 2020 census, up from 1,096 in 2010.

The architecture is genuinely notable. Robert Bruno spent decades building the Steel House on the canyon rim -- 110 tons of weathering steel, finished in 2008 -- and the Gaudi-influenced Lawson Rock House sits nearby. Vogue shot here in 2013. The town was developed starting in 1965 on a 576-acre site, incorporated in December 1977, and dropped the "Lake" from its original name of Lake Ransom Canyon in 1984.

What that means for us is that Ransom Canyon is where the Lubbock short-term rental market physically concentrates. Lake-house inventory here shows up on Vrbo and Expedia, and with well over a thousand active short-term rental listings across the metro, this canyon and the Buffalo Springs Lake area 0.8 miles away are the one place where the turnover work clusters geographically instead of being scattered across the city. High-value, low-density, canyon-view houses with guests coming and going are exactly the make-ready and turnover customer.

We cover both sides of that: turnover cleaning for hosts and property managers -- full clean, linen change, restocking, and photo verification sent before the next guest arrives -- and regular house cleaning for the people who live here year-round, plus opening and closing cleans for second homes that sit empty part of the year. Ransom Canyon mail runs on 79366, and some of it carries Slaton's 79364; both are legitimate and both reach us.

Local Knowledge

Ransom Canyon is small enough that we treat it as one job rather than a route, which suits the way turnover work actually happens -- a checkout at eleven and a check-in at four does not care whether we had another house booked nearby. Canyon houses have their own quirks: more glass facing the water and the view, more outdoor living space that guests use hard, more stairs, and a fair number of houses that sit empty between visits and need an opening clean rather than a maintenance one. We also cover the Buffalo Springs Lake side, which is under a mile away and too small to be its own service area.
