Hochatown is one of the densest short-term rental markets in the country by any measure that matters. A couple hundred people live here full time and roughly three thousand cabins surround them, stretched along US-259 north of Broken Bow and around the Broken Bow Lake shoreline. The listings are not rooms -- nearly all of them are whole cabins, more than half have three bedrooms or more, and most sleep eight or more guests. Every booking here ends in a turnover, and there are thousands of them a week across this market.

We clean those turns as a fixed sequence rather than as a general clean, because a turn is a deadline first and a cleaning job second. Beds stripped and remade, bunk room included. Bathrooms and kitchen reset, dishes handled. Hot tub surround wiped down and sanitized between groups. Fireplace ash cleared and the hearth and glass cleaned. Decks, screened porches, and outdoor kitchens swept clear of pine needles and red clay. Game room put back the way the listing photos show it. Consumables restocked, cabin staged, every room photographed, and the photos sent to you before we drive out.

That last part is not a flourish. A host with a cabin fifteen minutes off the highway should not have to drive out to know whether it is guest-ready, and the moment to learn that a hot tub cover is torn or the coffee maker is gone is before a guest arrives, not after. Damage and maintenance issues get reported to you with a photo attached.

The calendar here is unusually sharp, and we plan against it. Fridays and Sundays are the turn days. Spring break and the summer stretch are when the weekends stack, and January and February are the quietest. Supply has grown fast -- close to thirty percent more listings year over year -- and nightly rates and revenue per listing rose anyway, which means the turns keep coming and the weekends stack.
