Broken Bow is a cabin town with a small town attached. About 4,200 people live here year round, and something on the order of three thousand short-term rentals sit in and around them, most of them north on US-259 through Hochatown and along the shoreline of Broken Bow Lake. More than two million people a year drive in for Beavers Bend State Park and the lake, and almost every one of them sleeps in a cabin that somebody has to turn over before the next group pulls in.

The market runs on weekends. Friday and Sunday are the turn days, spring break and summer are when the weekends stack up, and January and February are the quiet ones.
