House Cleaning & Maid Service

Some people call it house cleaning, plenty of our customers call it maid service, and a fair number search for house cleaners or a cleaning company. It is the same job under all of those names: a professional who comes to your home on a set schedule, works through a written checklist, and leaves the place ready to live in. What separates a real maid service from a one-off clean is the relationship. A checklist written for a dry climate misses most of what happens to a house in Fayetteville. Three things do the damage here, and none of them is snow.

Pollen. This is the City of Dogwoods, with a Dogwood Festival every spring, which is a pleasant way of saying the pollen here is spectacular. It coats window sills and tracks, settles into blind slats, films screens and porch furniture, gathers on ceiling fan blades and on the top of every door frame and cabinet. Wiping the middle of a surface moves it around; getting it out means going after the tracks, the slats and the edges every visit.

Sand. Sandhills soil is fine and it travels. It rides in on shoes and stays in the entryway, the hallway, the edge of the carpet and the grout lines of a tile floor. Entries are the first thing to get dirty in a house here and the last thing most people think to clean.

Humidity. July highs near 91 degrees with roughly 44.58 inches of rain a year mean bathrooms, closets and anything with a seal need real attention rather than a wipe. Grout discolors, shower seals collect what they should not, and closets that never get air hold moisture in the corners.

All three are line items on the 42-point checklist rather than upgrades, because in this climate a clean that skips them does not stay clean.
