Windsor Lake sits a block north of the BNSF tracks and the Water Valley development runs along State Highway 257. The reference point everyone who lived through it still uses is the tornado of 22 May 2008, which was on the ground from about 11:26 in the morning until just after noon -- it touched down northeast of Platteville, tore north through the east side of town and finally lifted up in Larimer County. What that means for a visit is straightforward. Newer construction means more square footage, more bathrooms, more hard floor and more glass than an older house -- and those four things set the length of a clean far more than the address does.
