Our Story
Kiwi Cleaning Services started in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas with one idea: a cleaning company should tell you exactly what it is going to do, do that, and stand behind it. Everything we built came out of that -- the written 42-point checklist, the Kiwi Clean Guarantee, and quoting the home in front of us instead of reading a number off a price list.
St. Mary's County is a new market for us, and we say so plainly rather than arriving with a stack of claims we have not earned here yet. Other cleaning companies have worked this county for years, and some of them already publish pages for the same towns we do. What we bring is the part of the business that does not depend on tenure: a checklist every visit follows, eco-friendly products that are safe around kids and pets, all our own supplies and equipment, and a free re-clean within 24 hours if a job is not right.
We did the homework before opening here, and the first thing it showed us is that this county is two housing markets sharing one map. Lexington Park is more than half renter-occupied, with 38 percent of its homes in buildings of five or more units -- apartments, townhouses, and a move-out at the end of every lease. Hollywood, MD and Mechanicsville, MD are the opposite: across their ZIPs, nearly nine in ten homes or more are detached houses, and close to nine in ten households own them. California, MD and Leonardtown are largely new, with more than half and about three-quarters of their housing built since 2000. One written checklist covers all of it. The hours it takes, and where we spend them, move with the house.
We also took the map seriously. Our service area is St. Mary's County -- from Mechanicsville, MD at the north end to St. Mary's City and the southern tip -- and it stops at the county line. Calvert County, across the Thomas Johnson Bridge, is not part of our launch area, and we would rather say that up front than take a booking and hope.
Every page on this site exists in Spanish as well as English, and quote requests and scheduling can be handled in either. If we would not do it in our own house, we do not do it in yours.
